Clean Water for a Village
Need : Economic development Needs
How has this gift changed their lives?
Clean drinking water is a very valuable commodity in most villages in India. In Ibrahimpur too the story was no different. With ground water that is not fit for drinking, the people of Ibrahimpur have to walk long distances to fetch water. Also the lack of clean water makes the community easily susceptible to water borne diseases like cholera and typhoid.
This is where World Vision India stepped in and helped the village set up a water purifier. The eight process purifying method includes Reverse Osmosis, Filtration and Water Treatment which makes the ground water fit for consumption.
Today the village of Ibrahimpur is very proud of it's success. The water purification project was covered in all regional newspapers and television. Currently, the village generates revenue by selling water to the community for a small amount of Rs. 150 a month. This money goes into the village trust and the development of the community.
